DAC7 checker: will your sales be reported to the tax authority?

In short: A platform reports you to the Belastingdienst at 30 sales or more, or more than EUR 2,000 revenue, per platform per calendar year. Being reported does not mean you pay tax.

No login needed. Rule checked on 28 October 2026 with the Dutch Belastingdienst.

Marktplaats, Vinted and eBay pass your details to the tax authority when you go over a limit. Enter what you have sold so far this calendar year, per platform, and see where you stand.

The rule

For goods, platforms report a seller who sells 30 times or more in a calendar year, or for more than €2,000. The limit applies per platform: 20 sales on Marktplaats and 20 on Vinted are not 40.

It concerns sales through the platform itself. A deal made outside Marktplaats, or paid in cash, does not count. The platform reports your personal details, your revenue and the number of sales per quarter.

Being reported is not the same as paying tax. DAC7 does not change the tax rules, it only gives the tax authority sight. Whether you are seen as a business and owe tax on your profit depends on how you sell, not on this limit. This is not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is DAC7?

A European rule that makes online platforms pass data about their sellers to the tax authority of their country. It applies to Marktplaats, Vinted and eBay, among others.

How many sales until mine are reported?

At 30 sales or more in a calendar year, or revenue above €2,000, per platform. You are under the limit if you stay under both.

Do I have to pay tax if my sales are reported?

Not automatically. Reporting is information for the tax authority. Whether you owe tax depends on whether you count as a business and on your profit.

Do sales on different platforms add up?

Not for the DAC7 limit: it applies per platform. For the question whether you are a business, the tax authority does look at everything together.

Does Vinted report my sales to the Belastingdienst?

Yes, if you pass the limit: 30 sales or more in a calendar year, or more than EUR 2,000 revenue. Vinted falls under the same DAC7 rule as Marktplaats and eBay. The platform then reports your personal details, your revenue and the number of sales, among other things.
